Founded by Courtney Romano, a highly trained professional stylist with over 14 years of experience, now owned by Majlinda Papa, a professional hairdresser with over 20 years of experience. Pura Vida Salon is the realization of her passion for the beauty industry and her deep commitment to the environment. With a career rooted in creativity and sustainability, Pura Vida has created an eco-conscious sanctuary where guests can feel pampered, confident, and cared for inside and out.
Located in the heart of Braintree, Pura Vida Salon is more than just a salon—it’s a lifestyle. Inspired by the Costa Rican phrase “Pura Vida,” meaning “pure life,” the salon embodies wellness, simplicity, and sustainability. From the serene ambiance and welcoming atmosphere to the hand-picked, environmentally friendly products used in every service. Built with love and support from her family, friends, and loyal guests, the salon offers a calming retreat from the everyday.

As a highly trained professional stylist for over 11 years, salon owner Courtney Romano has fused her passion for both the beauty industry and her commitment to the environment.
Pura Vida Salon is the premier eco-friendly salon, benefiting guests and the environment, bringing Courtney’s energy, passion and drive to life. Courtney was able to take her vision of creating a serene ambiance with a warm, inviting atmosphere to life with the help and love from her family and friends and the loyalty and support of her guests. Staying true to Pura Vida’s meaning of “pure life” the Pura Vida team has collaborated with the Nature Conservancy and Sustainable Braintree to give back to the environment and community.
Education is of great importance to the Pura Vida team, knowing the latest techniques and being on point with today’s fashion is essential to amazing hair. As a platform artist with Pureology; Courtney educates and shares her passion with the Pura Vida team as well as other stylists across the country, specializing in design cutting and formal finishing. Being an educator with a brand that is the leader in luxury care, allows the Pura Vida team to network with award-winning stylists and is backed with great support. At Pura Vida Salon, stylists are trained using the Redken Associate program and understand the importance of catering to each guest’s specific needs while offering the full salon experience.
The Pura Vida team is passionate about their careers and feel fortunate that not only do they get to do what they love each day, but get the most gratification from making their guests feel naturally beautiful.
